China River Restaurant in Chatdam

Food was great but there was dust bunnies all over the walls and ceiling. There was so much dirt around the heat vents that it made me wonder, if they keep what the costumers see looking like this, what does the back look like.

We eat take out from here at least once a month! The General Two & Fried Dumplings are my favorite.

I just paid $9 for Mongolian beef, there may be 1 ounce of meat, the rest of the dish is onions, we've been eating here for 5 yrs and it has steadily declined to not worth the money by way of taste or content. Go somewhere else

Hard working through a rough time. Always good food and good portions. Fish tasted fresh and vegetables were crispy. Thank you for staying open.

Just went back for the lunch buffet after hearing new owners had taken over the place. Food was about the same, subtle differences like the crab Rangoon having larger wrappers and being slightly creamier, or the general tsos is more reddish color and slightly tangier (more vinegar?)... other than the new faces, still the best Chinese in town. Was hoping the new owners would clean the place up a bit, but I guess not. Walls are still coated from food 10 years ago. Food is what counts though

Not the best Chinese restaurant around. Food was very gummy and lacked any real flavor . Will not be ordering again . Sorry bro

I would rate this less than one star if possible. The place is in need of serious cleaning. After we paid for the lunch Buffett we regretted it. Terrible.....

Been going to China river for over 7 years, I absolutely love their food!!! I eat there weekly you can't beat the price!!

Chinese food, mmm, yummy. Certainly a top place in the area. The staff was very kind and attentive. Bring your appetite because portions are filling. I can see why they have a lot of positive reviews.

I work here and get food here often and it is the most amazing job ever! The owners are very nice and humble! Come eat!

Very reasonably priced good portions

I was so excited to have some chinese food after being in quarentine for so long. I ordered the S1, seafood combo with white rice. It was so much food and tasty, but when I dove back in for the last bites I found 3 little green worms. I don't know if they were in my entree or in the rice, but it made me sick. I returned the food and got my money back. I am positive I will have no more chinese cravings after this experience.

Not clean lobby or kitchen chicken tasted like shrimp and started to mess with my shellfish allergy so the was no clean pans would be my guess place is just gross not worth the risk of a food born illness

Kinda ghetto - but the food was decent and the price was right (lunch buffet: $8.50 after tax including drink: self-service drink station including hot tea & pop). I'm not aware of another buffet in the area, and the food was good enough and always restocked. Tables, chairs, and bathroom are showing their age and sticky... "less than sparking clean". If this upsets you, don't go. I considered it "character" and reminded myself it is a total cost of $8.50 lunch buffet and enjoyed myself.

I went here because of the reviews.... There was no co2 in the coke machine, I told them, they never fixed it and I never got another drink. Crab rangoon was extremely salty, egg rolls are ok, they were out of sweet and sour sauce... What? The shrimp lo mein was very salty also and had an odd smoke flavor. Every table was so disgustingly sticky im not sure why we stayed. We laid newspaper down to cover the surface. Terrible restaurant. If this is Springfield area best I feel bad for you guys.

Fine place for delicious Chinese food. Food was so delicious. Definitely worth a return visit. This place has a good feel to it. Food is like a restaurant in Louisville I liked.

A little hole in the wall type place. Offers a lunch buffet and specials. The service was good and the food was was about average.

Absolutely wonderful! Almost overly generous servings, the taste of fresh ingredients...delicious! Excellent prices! (A minor drawback...there was not an English-speaking person on the premises, and I could not get menu questions answered...)
